This class provides a fantastic opportunity to build your sewing skills and create your very own, bespoke fitted, swimming costume. Benefit from Amanda's great experience as a swimwear construction specialist and expert dressmaking teacher as she visits Miss Maker.
Choose to make a bespoke, one piece, pull on swimming costume or a two-piece costume. Both feature bust darts and internal bust support panel, crotch shield, front and back scooped neckline. (Board, shorts, jammers and trunk patterns are also available).
• It’s suitable for an adventurous beginner who can use a sewing machine.
• You will produce plenty of samples to understand the specialist techniques required for making swimwear.
• Skills covered; pattern layout and marking, working with power mesh, swimwear elastic and lycra, fitting and finishing.
Sessions run from 10.30am to 4.30pm on both days. Lunch allocated is 1 hour, we have the Courtyard Cafe and the Cricketers Pub on our doorstep for lunch bookings, the high street also boasts delightful delis, bakers and coffee shops, you are also welcome to bring a packed lunch. Our classes are limited to six participants so every one has access to the space and support they need.
You will need to bring:
Your own choice of material, lining fabric and thread (we will provide advice on this in advance of your class)
What's included:
The class includes expert tuition, Amanda will prepare a personalised pattern for you to use and keep. Use of Janome sewing machines, sewing tools, equipment and specialist haberdashery to complete your swimsuit are also provided for your use. Tea, coffee and biscuits
