Getting clothes that fit correctly and match your style can sometimes be tricky which is why making your own clothes and changing items you already own can be the key to giving your wardrobe a new lease of life.
This 5 week evening class will enable you to gain dress making skills and inspiration for altering your clothes to fit perfectly and ideas for restyling and upcycling items.
The class will be very flexible to allow everyone to work at their own pace. During the class we will cover:
General dressmaking techniques
Identifying how to fix fit issues
Using a garment's original construction to guide your alterations
Upcyling and re-styling pre-loved items
Sessions run from 6-8pm. Our classes are limited to six participants so every one has access to the space and support they need.
You will need to bring:
Dress making, alterations and upcycling projects of your choice.
What's included:
Those joining us for the first time will receive a free simple dress making pattern from the Tilly and The Buttons range. Expert guidance will be provided throughout the class. Use of Janome sewing machines and all sewing equipment will be provided. (scissors, rulers, tape measures, pens, pencils). Tea, coffee and biscuits
