Whether you have never used a sewing machine before or are returning to sewing and want to refresh your machine skills, this easygoing half day class is for you.


During the day you will be guided through making an attractive and useful drawstring bag you can use again and again.


The day will be very flexible to allow everyone to work at their own pace. During the class we will cover the basics of:

Machine set up

Sewing a range of stitches

Straight seams and turning corners

Marking, pinning and cutting a pattern

Joining pieces of fabric together

Finishing touches to make your project truly unique.



Sessions run from 10.30am to 1pm (morning) or 2pm - 4.30pm (afternoon). Our classes are limited to six participants so every one has access to the space and support they need.


You will need to bring:

Please bring half a meter of your choice of fabric (a pretty cotton is perfect, you can use a different pattern or plain fabric to line your bag, fat quarters are perfect for this class ), 2 meters of ribbon and matching thread


What's included:


Full instructions and expert guidance will be provided throughout the course. Use of Janome sewing machines and all sewing equipment will be provided. (scissors, rulers, tape measures, pens, pencils). Tea, coffee and biscuits
